OCTOBER 17, 2011 - ADAMS RIVER SALMON RUN | roderick haig brown provincial park, shuswap bc

Fall in Kamloops has been beautiful so far. Bright blue skies with sun shining everyday, it's gorgeous! So of course, the day that Dave and I plan to go out to Adams River in the Shuswap to see the Salmon run, we wake up to a dark and gloomy day with heavy clouds looming over the entire city. Luckily, by the time we were ready to head out the door, the sun started to shine and when we arrived at Roderick Haig Brown Provincial Park, there was not a single cloud to be seen. It was a beautiful afternoon to be outside walking and exploring in an amazing forest. I can't exactly say the same about the smell though! Although you do get a bit more used to it the longer you are there, there's no question that we were in the right place when we hopped out of the car and took a nice deep breath of not so fresh air.

Looking through these photographs makes me realize how truly lucky I am to live where I do. It's absolutely breath taking and I am so blessed to be able to spend an afternoon taking it all in, relaxing with the warmth of the sun on my face. The changes that each of the four seasons brings is so wonderful to be a part of year after year. When I go for my morning walks and breathe in that crisp fall air, I get so excited for the changes that are to come and to hear the snow crunching beneath my feet.

I hope that this set of photographs will help those of you who dread the colder weather on it's way to see the changing seasons as something amazing!
