This past weekend we went fishing with a friend of ours to Pass Lake. It's about a 20-30 minute drive that contains the most diverse landscape I've ever seen in such a short amount of time. After driving through sub divisions you come to a dirt road where all the houses vanish and you are in between tall rolling sage desert hillsides full of biking trails. Five minutes of this terrain brings you to rolling grassy pasture hills with ponds and pines and cattle corals. Another five minutes goes by and the pines get thicker and thicker until you are all of a sudden immersed in coastal like forests with moss and poplars. It was unbelievable to see such a quick change.
It is a beautiful lake and despite the rain and getting skunked once again (I feel I have a lot of learning to do when it comes to fly fishing) I greatly enjoyed myself and the scenery. Here's a few shots of beautiful Pass Lake...
